Not a day goes by without the NFT space throwing out an incredible sales figure. Recently, it was Axie Infinity who just recorded their biggest land trade ever. A single transaction coming in at a magnificent 550 ETH, that’s almost $2.4 million in old money.
The prime real-estate in question is one of only 220 genesis plots in existence, some of the most coveted assets in the metaverse. However, thanks to a recent $3 million Decentraland acquisition, it makes only second place in the annals of digital real-estate record breaking.

Axie Infinity’s land mechanic involves 90,601 individual plots of varying rarity, and together they make up the nation of Lunacia, the Axie homeland. As such, each piece of the Axie kingdom is a base of operations for the battle-worn Axolotls who live there, making it upgradable, farmable and perfectly inhabitable for its tiny denizens. The Axie metaverse is currently under construction, and in the future will provide a whole new dynamic for gamers. Despite this, Axie Infinity land is still a highly valuable commodity, with a current floor price of 3.3 ETH ($14k) for the most basic of dwellings.
This army of ferocious amphibians has gone from strength to strength since its inception. In the past few months we saw an airdrop of $50 million in AXS tokens to its most loyal members, the introduction of AXS staking, and the launch of the formidable Katana DEX.
