The first NFTs will hit the market on October 27, featuring the highly coveted Superman #1 graphic novel, arriving in a limited run of 3,000 editions, for the incredibly reasonable price of $9.99. In addition, those making a purchase will randomly receive one of 5 degrees of rarity, with ‘Legacy’ collection scarcity represented by digital wear and tear, and ‘Modern’ comics featuring alternative covers.

Through the initiative, DC aims to replicate the collectability of its physical comic books and mimick their counterparts that exist within the physical world. Most importantly however, the company has shied away from using technical terminology, and set a price that will appeal to the casual collector.
