To celebrate the vibrant and diverse art scene of Indonesia, blockchain Solana has teamed up with crypto-wallet Pintu to deliver the Indonesia Art Project, an NFT competition for talented artists and creators across Indonesia.

A panel of stellar judges, creators, and collectors will be presented with visual art submissions from participants, where they will decide which of the submissions deserve to win cash prizes from the $70,000 prize pool.

The Competition

The Indonesia Art Project runs from November 30th to December 27th. Registration opens on November 30th, where artists can start submitting their visual artwork. There will be events occurring throughout the project, including a Community AMA (Ask Me Anything) on December 3rd, a Physical NFT gallery launch in Jakarta (curated by USSFeeds) on December 4th, and the launch of the Art Project Online Gallery on December 5th. The final submission deadline is December 27th, with the results of the competition being released on January 5th, 2022.

The project welcomes all skill levels, however, only a select few will win a cash prize. The winner of the competition will receive $10,000, with second place receiving $7,000, and third place receiving $5,000. The rest of the $70,000 prize pool is made up of individual awards from local and international partners.

These partners include Serum, Metaplex, Magic Eden, USS FEED, Eizper Chain, Project SEED, Coinvestasi, Indonesian NFT artist Izzy, NFT and crypto enthusiast Arnold Poernomo. Winning artists will also have the opportunity to have their art showcased in a digital gallery curated by Desolates Metaverse.

Solana & Pintu

The Indonesia Art Project showcases NFT artwork on Solana, a fast and scalable blockchain that delivers a low fee environment so NFT artwork can be celebrated and exchanged without expensive gas fees.

Blockchain knows no geographic bounds, and has shown that, no matter where artists are based, there’s a global community behind them,” said Matthew Beck, partner at Solana Ventures. “We’re excited to support this collaboration, and introduce new people to the power of NFTs and digital art.”

Pintu is a mobile-first crypto wallet and trading platform in Indonesia. It is one of very few crypto exchanges in Indonesia that is officially licensed by the Bappebti, Ministry of Trade. Its developers are predominantly focused on new and casual crypto investors and ease of use functionality. Along with aiming to make cryptocurrency more understandable and accessible to people, Pintu also aims to help bridge the Rupiah to the crypto world.

Visual arts have always been a big part of Indonesian culture. We have many talented artists whose work may not get the exposure and appreciation that it deserves. Through blockchain technology, we believe artists can express their works to a global audience in the form of digital arts (NFTs) and get rewarded in crypto assets. Pintu and the Solana network share this same vision to support artists in Indonesia” said Timothius Martin, Chief Marketing Officer at Pintu.
