After announcing its Web3 resurrection back in March, which was then followed by the inking of a lucrative partnership with Universal Music Group, LimeWire has officially launched its NFT marketplace.
As per its announcement, the marketplace will serve as the all-in-one place for music fans to get their mitts on digital collectibles that have been curated by their favorite artists. Fans will have the opportunity to engage with original songs, visual artworks, backstage passes, and other in-person opportunities via buying an NFT on the platform.
To celebrate the launch, a star studded line-up of artists such as Travis Barker, Nicky Jam, Brandy, Aitch, Dillion Francis, 7 Aurelius, Elijah Blake, and more, will be releasing NFTs on the platform. Travis Barker’s particular NFT is an actual drum kit, whilst Brandy’s is dubbed as a collaborative flower bouquet NFT with accompanying spoken word.
In addition to artist-centric collectibles, the platform as a whole will also offer 10,000 ‘Originals’ NFTs which provide owners with access to invite-only events, token rewards, and early access to NFT drops. The collection will be minted in stages by waitlist users.
To appeal to a larger audience, the platform will facilitate credit card payments, and will also pay for the gas fee of each transaction.
