Japan-based messaging app Line Corporation is launching an NFT platform in the new year. The platform will be named LineNext, and will be operating out of the U.S.A and South Korea.
The new organisation is set up with the aim to build markets and create communities and ecosystems for companies and individuals to trade NFTs. It intends to do this through utilising Line Corporation’s extensive experience in developing messenger and blockchain services. The platforms services will run globally, however, it will not include Line Corporations native country Japan, who alternatively, will run a beta version of the service through Line Bitmax wallet.
Through being a platform provider, LineNext’s primary revenue stream will be the transaction brokerage fees it receives. However, plans for additional revenue streams are already in the pipeline, which, according to a spokesperson, may involve a partnership with several potential future partners with talks already ongoing.
The LineNext team situated in The U.S.A. will be focusing on developing the business-end of the NFT platform, whilst the larger team situated in South Korea will be focusing on the global strategy and planning of the platform.

They are no strangers the crypto world, having already established their own independently developed blockchain, Line Blockchain, with crypto-asset, Link (LN), and they also run their own blockchain development platform, Line Blockchain Developers.
