Following on from Mercedes’ mass launch of free NFTs at the Miami Grand Prix, Oracle Red Bull Racing becomes the latest F1 powerhouse to bring the blockchain to race day. The Web3 offering in question is a novel, two-part NFT auction, which will take place at the most deluxe event on the F1 calendar, the Monaco Grand Prix.
In line with the exclusive aura of the Monégasque princedom, the Oracle Red Bull Racing NFT Auction will have only one grand winner, with the first part of the prize being a unique Monaco-edition ‘Playseat’ NFT, a physical gaming-like simulator which F1 drivers use in practice.
Most poignantly, the second part of the prize is an actual Monaco-edition Playseat, which, to create the most authentic simulation possible, comes with a Fanatec Podium F1 wheel, wheel base, and CSL Elite pedals. The Playseat will not be brand new however, as it’ll be rigged up in the racing paddock throughout the race weekend on May 27th-29th, with drivers and Red Bull athletes being invited to use it before it gets shipped off to the auction’s lucky winner.
The auction for the illustrious pair of prizes is now live on Bybit NFT marketplace until May 31st. As the NFT is minted on the Tezos blockchain, bids will be taken in $XTZ, with the equivalent of $600 being the minimum.
