Two trailblazers of modern DJing, Steve Aoki and 3LAU, have combined forces for a mighty NFT-themed collaboration. Effectively, assuming the personas of their privately owned CryptoPunk NFTs to form the super-group, Punx.

Over the years, Aoki and 3LAU have formed a strong bond through their love of music and Web3. Now seeking to combine those two passions in one neat CryptoPunk inspired package. All made possible though Yuga Labs recent update to the CryptoPunks licencing rights.

We bring to you: PUNX

10 years of friendship has led to this moment. We are excited to introduce a conceptual music/art project partly inspired by our own @cryptopunksnfts.

According to the musical duo, Punx will look to debut an all-new sound crafted specifically for the project. Resulting in a powerful “conceptual art music project” set to treat the senses through a series of astounding beats and melodies.

For now, Aoki and 3LAU will release music for the project via more traditional means. Instead, choosing to focus on the music direction before continuing with the Web3 theme of the group. However, they have not ruled out incorporating an NFT aspect into the Punx brand at a later date.

This is not the first time the pair have collaborated on an NFT project, previously launching the song ‘Jenny’ together as a non-fungible token in 2021.
