The 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump stunned the social media world with his latest ‘major announcement’. Consequently, sparking a great deal of debate with a wholly unexpected self-styled NFT collection.

Mr. Trump announced his pivot towards NFT digital trading cards via his own ‘Truth’ social media platform. The 45k collectable NFTs are being sold at flat rate of $99, each featuring the controversial celebrity in various fantasy poses. The collection sold out virtually immediately, and now sits atop the OpenSea trading charts turning over an impressive 410 ETH ($520k) in secondary sales.

According to the erstwhile commander in chief, each NFT in the collection comes with a chance to win ‘amazing’ prizes. With top awards including dinner with Donald Trump, golf at one of his famed golf courses, and a zoom call with the popular billionaire.

Following the announcement, many have speculated with regards to the motivation behind the move, with some presuming it is an attempt to connect with the tech-savvy generation, and others believing it hints at a further softening towards Web3 tech. Whatever it is, Mr. Trump has once again put himself firmly back in the crosshairs of the public’s attention.

So, in what was initially dismissed a fever dream, sees the indomitable Mr. Trump make his unexpected debut on the blockchain.
