<p>The Union of European Football Associations, or UEFA, invites companies from the financial services category, including brokers and cryptocurrency firms, to submit their interest in <a href=”https://www.financemagnates.com/tag/sports-sponsorship/” target=”_blank” rel=”follow”>acquiring sponsorship rights packages</a> before 6 March.</p><p>UEFA Seeking Sports Sponsorship Bids </p><p>As reported by Sports Business, the UEFA has currently opened the application only for Europa League and Europa Conference League, its second and third-tier leagues, respectively. The sales process for the sponsorship deals for the 2024-27 commercial cycle was launched in May last year.</p><p>The football association has already accepted two sponsorship offers and is now seeking parties interested in the remaining marketing packages.</p><p>UEFA is the wider European body that controls the matches and competitions between clubs and countries at a European level. Its flagship tournament is the Champions League, where top football clubs every year participates. The Europa League is the second-tier league, organized since 1971, and also sees the participation of prominent European football clubs. Europa Conference League is the newest that only came into existence in 2021.</p><p>The eyeballs these UEFA tournaments attract encourage global brands to shell out millions to put their brands in sight. The current sponsorship portfolio for 2021-24 Europa League and Europa Conference League includes Bwin, Engelbert Strauss, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Heineken 0.0%, Hankook Tire, Just Eat Takeaway, and Swissquote, a <a href=”https://www.financemagnates.com/terms/r/retail-trading/” class=”terms__main-term” id=”2d172307-15c6-4278-a100-fcbb8d9c19c9″ target=”_blank”>retail trading</a> services provider that signed the three-year deal in 2021.</p><p>Football Sponsorship and Financial Services</p><p>Sports sponsorship deals are the most sought <a href=”https://www.financemagnates.com/terms/m/marketing/” class=”terms__secondary-term” id=”48d4594c-de24-47ac-9f1b-aa2e0da8374a” target=”_blank”>marketing</a> opportunities among retail brokers, and most of the money goes to football. According to SportQuake, brokers collectively <a href=”https://www.financemagnates.com/forex/did-retail-brokers-save-football/” target=”_blank” rel=”follow”>spent $125 million in football sponsorships</a> in the 2021-2022 play season, a yearly increase of 49 percent.</p><p>Some brokers have entered into big-ticket deals, like <a href=”https://www.financemagnates.com/forex/brokers/fc-bayern-announces-partnership-with-libertex/” target=”_blank” rel=”follow”>Libertex sponsoring FC Bayern</a>, <a href=”https://www.financemagnates.com/forex/doo-group-becomes-financial-trading-partner-of-manchester-united-fc/” target=”_blank” rel=”follow”>Doo Group becoming a partner of Manchester United</a>, <a href=”https://www.financemagnates.com/forex/brokers/thinkmarkets-signs-sports-sponsorship-deal-with-liverpool-fc/” target=”_blank” rel=”follow”>ThinkMarkets signing a deal with Liverpool</a>, and many more. Meanwhile, some brokers like eToro and IC Markets have inked dozens of strategic deals with smaller regional clubs to promote their brands.</p><p>Apart from FX/CFDs brokers, crypto companies also spend big on sports deals. American crypto exchange Coinbase recently announced its deal with <a href=”https://www.financemagnates.com/cryptocurrency/coinbase-enters-european-football-becomes-bvb-sponsor/” target=”_blank” rel=”follow”>German football club BVB</a>. Further, two greatest footballers, Christiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, inked deals with Binance and Bitget, respectively.</p><p>Meanwhile, UEFA Champions League earlier terminated its potential five-play seasons’ partnership deal with Crypto.com, another big spender in the sports. The deal was set to be one of the largest sports sponsorships but did not materialize due to regulatory concerns.</p>
